Witu Community Development Platform is a Community Based Organization. It is run by the Franciscan Missionaries of St Joseph (FMSJ) in collaboration with the Board of Trustees and the Management Committee on behalf of support group members.

It was established in the year 2002 by Sr Brenda Makokha and registered with the department of Gender and Social Services in the year 2007 as Vumilia self-help group. In the year 2014, the Self-help group upgraded to a CBO with the name Tuvumiliane Witu HIV and AIDS; with more than 100 members by then, under the leadership of Sr Dorcas.

The Organization further registered into a new name as Witu Community Development Platform [WiCoDeP] the year 2021 in incorporating different needs in the Northern Coastal region.

The CBO is in Lamu County, Lamu West Sub-County. The CBO’s office is located along Garsen – Witu- Lamu road at the Witu/Kipini Catholic Church premises.
